ARROWHEAD PSYCHOLOGICAL CLINIC
Dr. David B. Plude, Psy.D., CEO, Licensed Psychologist
Dave has worked at APC since 1992. He received his Doctoral degree in Clinical
Psychology, from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, Duluth
Campus in 1999. While Dave considers himself a
generalist, and works with a variety of different issues, his areas of
specialization include working with couples, communication, attention problems, mood
issues, stress, sports psychology and anger management. Dave enjoys working with people and has over
17 years
of experience helping individuals, couples and families work through many
challenging issues. While completing his Doctoral Degree, Dave published his
research on attention deficit disorder and EEG-based diagnosis. Other research
Dave has been involved with at the University of Minnesota, Duluth involved
diagnosing and treating college students with ADD/ADHD. In addition to
his current duties at APC, Dave is actively participating with a group of
local professionals and advocates to improve and redesign our approach to
domestic violence and abuse issues. He is an active board member for the Duluth Superior Alpine

Diedre Plude M.S. Licensed Psychologist
Dee brings over 30 years of experience in academic,
industrial, governmental and social services. Dee has directed treatment for
chronic pain and specialized in marriage and the family, Dee has additional
specialties in overcoming fear and anxiety, coping with stress, lifting
depression, divorce prevention and building positive families. Dee
began her career as an educator. Later, she served on the advisory committee for
Special Education to the Duluth School Board, and served as a board member for
United Cerebral Palsy. Dee continues to serve on the Interagency Early
Intervention Committee for families. Walt and Dee are pleased to have combined
their 35+ years of clinical training and 35 years of marriage, with personal
training by Dr. John Gray to bring a Couples Counseling Center to Minnesota.

Dr. Kim Schmidt Psy.D. Licensed
Psychologist
Kim has been in practice for over 13 years and enjoys
working with a broad variety of patients of all ages. She strives to
individualize therapy to fit each patient’s unique needs. Dr. Schmidt
competed her predoctoral internship in the Hawaiian Islands where she had the
opportunity to receive specialized training in working with cross-cultural
patients and post traumatic stress disorder. Additional specialties include
sexual abuse, women’s issues, psychological evaluations, hypnosis and crisis
intervention.

Jonathan Beyer,
Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Beyer has been a Licensed Psychologist since 1992.
In 2000, he received his Doctoral degree from Walden University in Clinical Psychology. Although he specializes in
conducting clinical assessments and forensic evaluations, he also enjoys working with adolescents and adults
in therapy. Dr. Beyer has been the Clinical Director at Northwood Children's Services,
the
Archdeacon Gilfillan Center, and Woodland Hills. He has worked in community settings, taught for area
and on-line universities, and been a consultant for the development of mental health programs. Dr.
Beyer also specializes in mood disorders, chemical dependency and recovery, and couples experiencing
marital problems.

Dr. ElizaBeth Carver, Psy. D., Licensed
Psychologist
Dr.
Carver has had a variety of experiences working with diverse clients in a
multitude of settings – schools, inpatient mental health hospitals,
outpatient mental health centers, hospitals, neonatal care units, correctional
settings, and group homes. She served as the clinical director of the
residential and day treatment programs at Northwood Children's Services for 4
½ years, treating individuals aged 2 years to 18 years. Her early training
included specialization in play therapy, attachment, sexual abuse, trauma,
early childhood development and psychological assessment for children,
adolescents and adults. She has also had extensive experience in toddler and
preschool assessment/intervention and parent education. Dr. Carver’s warm
and receptive manner compliments her strong reliance on a collaborative
approach with clients in order to guide them through the therapeutic process.
Areas of interest include stress management, skill building, coping
strategies, and relaxation training.

Dr. Julianne Davis, Psy. D., Licensed
Psychologist
Dr. Davis has practiced as a licensed psychologist in
Kansas
and Iowa, where she was most recently Clinic Director of a mental health center.
Dr. Davis brings experience in consultation, assessment, and
individual therapy to APC. Dr. Davis works with adult clients who are
experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, and adjustment problems, as well as
with adults struggling with thought disorders and chemical dependency.
Assessments offered by Dr. Davis include bariatric surgery evaluations,
disability assessments, court-ordered evaluations for parenting capacity and
probation, and diagnostic evaluations. Dr.
Davis has provided consultation services to hospital units, chemical
dependency treatment centers, and residential facilities for adults with
chronic mental illnesses. In addition
to her clinical work here at APC she is also providing counseling services
for the Women's Bethel Work Release Program. She is
available to provide training and to facilitate group supervision or
staffing for treatment facilities.

Kelsey White, MA, Psychotherapist
Kelsey
White is completing her Doctorate degree from Argosy University with a
concentration in child and adolescent mental health.
She has worked in school and inpatient settings conducting therapy
and assessments with children and adults. Kelsey has interest in working
with children and adolescents who have experienced abuse, trauma, anxiety,
attentional problems, and depression. Additionally, Kelsey has been
assisting care-givers with parenting education as well as conducting
psychological assessments on children and adolescents

Adam Ries, M.A.,
Psychotherapist
Adam is a relatively new transplant to the Duluth
area, having completed his pre-doctoral internship here at Arrowhead
Psychological Clinic. He
received his B.A. degree in psychology from UW-Madison, his M.A. degree in
clinical psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy
University, and is currently completing his Psy.D. degree.
As a generalist, Adam works with individuals, couples, and families
of all ages, and brings a variety of competencies and interests to the
clinic. In particular, his
clinical focus is providing assessment and treatment of mood, anxiety, and
attention disorders, as well as conducting multi-modal evaluations involving
neuropsychological, cognitive, and personality assessment.
He has also worked with adults and adolescents with chemical health
concerns, as well as individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
His academic research has focused on the neuropsychological
assessment of Attention Deficit Disorder and Schizophrenia.
