Corona Virus Update

Corona Virus Update

Updated 10-20-2020.

In an effort to be socially responsible to our community and remain a valuable asset to existing and new clientele, Arrowhead Psychological Clinic has taken some measures to assist with social distancing.

We are still open and accepting new clients!

APC therapy appointments can be conducted in person, over the phone or via video sessions.  Some clinicians are primarily seeing clientele virtually.  We are trying to offer some in person appointments at this time so we encourage you to call us regarding the availability of these services.   Should the pandemic spike significantly we may ask our in person clientele to switch to virtual sessions to continue care  We are offering more in-person counseling sessions to children under the age of 12.  We will consider doing in-person sessions in some of these cases.  Our administrative staff will be available Monday through Friday for Scheduling and questions.

We continue to take several precautions to reduce the spread of the Corona Virus

-Sick or symptomatic clients are encouraged to reschedule or set up online sessions.  Please do not enter the building.

If in person sessions are needed, please consider useing our “Parking Lot Waiting Area”.  When you check in for the session we encourage you to wait in your vehicle near the door and we will call or text, when the clinician is ready.  This reduces a crowded waiting room.

  • Family, guests, and staff of clients are asked to wait in their vehicles while clients are in session.
  • Toys and magazines have been removed from the waiting room.
  • Extra measures of cleaning are taking place on a daily basis.
  • If you’re interested in Teletherapy Sessions please complete the informed consent document and email it to [email protected]
  • In compliance with city ordinance and state law masks are required within the public places inside APC.

Give us a call if you would like to set up some appointments in-person or through telemedicine.

INFORMED CONSENT CHECKLIST FOR TELEPSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Prior to starting video-conferencing services, we discussed and agreed to the following:

  • There are potential benefits and risks of video-conferencing (e.g. limits to patient confidentiality) that differ from in-person sessions.
  • Confidentiality still applies for telepsychology services, and nobody will record the session without the permission from the others person(s).
  • We agree to use the video-conferencing platform selected for our virtual sessions, and the psychologist will explain how to use it.
  • You need to use a webcam or smartphone during the session.
  • It is important to be in a quiet, private space that is free of distractions (including cell phone or other devices) during the session.
  • It is important to use a secure internet connection rather than public/free Wi-Fi.
  • It is important to be on time. If you need to cancel or change your tele-appointment, you must notify the psychologist in advance by phone or email.
  • We need a back-up plan (e.g., phone number where you can be reached) to restart the session or to reschedule it, in the event of technical problems.
  • We need a safety plan that includes at least one emergency contact and the closest ER to your location, in the event of a crisis situation.
  • If you are not an adult, we need the permission of your parent or legal guardian (and their contact information) for you to participate in telepsychology sessions.
  • You should confirm with your insurance company that the video sessions will be reimbursed; if they are not reimbursed, you are responsible for full payment.
  • As your clinician, I may determine that due to certain circumstances, telepsychology is no longer appropriate and that we should resume our sessions in-person.
