Dr. David B. Plude
PSYD, CEO, LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Dave has worked at APC since 1992. He received his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, Duluth Campus in 1999. While Dave considers himself a generalist, and works with a variety of different issues, his areas of specialization include working with couples, communication, attention problems, mood issues, stress, sports psychology and anger management. Dave enjoys working with people and has over 24 years of experience helping individuals, couples and families work through many challenging issues. While completing his Doctoral Degree, Dave published his research on attention deficit disorder and EEG-based diagnosis. Other research Dave has been involved with at the University of Minnesota, Duluth involved diagnosing and treating college students with ADD/ADHD. In addition to his current duties at APC, Dave is actively participating with a group of local professionals and advocates to improve and redesign our approach to domestic violence and abuse issues. He is an active board member for the Duluth Superior Alpine Club.

CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Shelley Plude has been working with Arrowhead Psychological Clinic for several years administratively and has more recently joined our Clinical Team. Shelley obtained her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota - Duluth in 1995. She completed her Masters degree in Social Work at UMD in 2003. Shelley has several years of clinical experience working with Children and Adolescents in both day treatment settings as a school Social Worker. Shelley's previous employment history includes working with the Juvenile Assessment Center, Northwood's Children's Services, and five years as the Social Worker for the Hermantown School District. More recently Shelley practiced as an understudy with Diedre Plude, MA, LP, working with adults couples and families, prior to Diedre's retirement. Shelley's areas of specialization include counseling services with children, adolescents and adults. In addition to her work with clientele of these ages, Shelley looks forward to providing counseling services for couples and families. In addition to Shelley's clinical interests Shelley has spent several years being involved as an active participant in Congdon Park Soccer and with the Scott Anderson Leadership Program.
Dr. Kim Schmidt
PSYD LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Kim has been in practice for over 20 years and enjoys working with a broad variety of patients of all ages. She strives to individualize therapy to fit each patient’s unique needs. Dr. Schmidt completed her pre-doctoral internship in the Hawaiian Islands where she had the opportunity to receive specialized training in working with cross-cultural patients and post traumatic stress disorder. Additional specialties include sexual abuse, women’s issues, psychological evaluations, hypnosis and crisis intervention.
Dr. Megan Paris
PSYD LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Paris is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she obtained her doctoral degree in counseling psychology; she additionally has a Master’s Degree in marriage and family therapy. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, hospitals, private clinics, and schools. While she has trained as a generalist, her primary clinical interests reside in couples therapy, supervision and training of clinical trainees, and psychological assessments. She has experience in a variety of evaluative processes, including forensic evaluations, neuropsychological exams, learning disorder identification, as well as ADHD and Autism Spectrum testing. Dr. Paris takes an emotionally focused approach to couples therapy to assist partners in opening lines of communication, expanding their experience of empathy, and building trust. When working with individuals, she takes a humanistic approach to psychotherapy; she enjoys assisting clients in exploring and embracing the previously unexplored or rejected aspects of themselves, gaining insight into their dilemmas, and interrupting unhealthy patterns through an empathetic and caring therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Corry Duffy
PHD, LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Corry grew up in Duluth and returned in 2015 to work here at APC. In the interim, she got a BA in International Studies at Macalester College, an M.Ed in Counselor Education at the University of Texas-Austin, and a Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and also completed a predoctoral internship at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. Corry has worked in a variety of settings, including K-12 public schools, universities, community mental health centers, and providing in-home crisis counseling. Currently, Corry works with adults (individuals and couples) with a variety of presenting problems. She has a particular interest in issues related to relationship difficulties, traumatic experiences, stress management, and identity development. Corry’s therapeutic style is collaborative and strengths-based, helping clients learn to be intentional in their choices and to find meaningful ways to be in the world.
Dr. Sarah Harter-Siltanen
Dr. Sarah Harter-Siltanen, a native of the Proctor/Duluth area obtained her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Upon completion of her doctoral degree, Dr. Harter-Siltanen provided individual therapy services and group therapy services at Allendale Association. She provided services within the therapeutic day school and outpatient community clinic to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and learning disorders. Dr. Harter-Siltanen directs Arrowhead Psychological Clinics Therapy in the Schools Program and offers therapy services on site at Ordean East Middle School and Duluth East High School during the school year. Several days per week she also provides psychological evaluations and therapy services at Arrowhead Psychological Clinic for children and adolescents. Dr Harter-Siltanen enjoys collaborating with children, teens and their families to find healthy solutions to life’s challenges.
Dr. Jason Stahl
Dr. Jason Stahl graduated in 2009 from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with his BAS in Applied Psychology. He completed his doctoral candidate from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University-Twin Cities where his specialization was in Clinical Psychology. He has experience with assessing and working with a wide variety of mental health needs ranging from chemical dependency to sever and persistent mental illness. During Jason’s PsyD program he spent one year training at Schlutter and Associates where he conducted psychological assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, and worked with outpatient dual diagnosis (chemical dependency and mental health) groups. During his graduate training he also spent one year training at CAPS-SCSU working with the adolescent and the emerging adult populations providing individual therapy. Outside of his doctoral training Jason has worked with Community and Family Services, LLC. providing in-home family therapy in St. Cloud and the surrounding area. Jason is a very personable therapist who takes a person centered approach to therapy in which he incorporates solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. Jason enjoys working with clients in a manner where they feel listened to, validated, and provides tailored interventions that his clients are able to engage in.
Lindsey joined Arrowhead Psychological Clinic in November 2016. She is a Wisconsin native with a soft spot for Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2013. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Education degree in Clinical Mental Health. Lindsey has experience working in a community mental health setting with children and teens on developing healthy coping skills. She has also worked with adult men and adolescents on the topic of sexuality. She specializes in wide variety of areas including anxiety, depression, sexuality and relationship issues. Lindsey primarily works with adults and adolescents. She takes a person centered approach to therapy in order to build a positive relationship with clients. She also incorporates cognitive behavioral interventions and strives to use techniques that will fit the client(s). In addition to Lindsey's passion for mental health, she has also spent 2 years as an active volunteer for the local Girl Scouts helping to build confidence and self-esteem in young girls.
Emily graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with her BA in Psychology in 2013. She went on to study Marriage and Family Therapy at Argosy University from 2014-2017, and graduated with her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in July of 2017. Emily worked with children with Autism for 4.5 years at Fraser. During this time, she provided day treatment, case management, therapy, and skills services. Emily has experience with children, adolescents, teens, and adults with depression, Autism, anxiety, trauma, developmental delays, learning disorders, emotional/behavioral issues, and PTSD. She typically utilizes a Cognitive-Behavioral or Narrative therapy approach, and has experience in using the Early Start Denver Model and TEACCH methods. Emily uses a systemic approach through incorporating the family into the therapeutic setting. She strives to use interventions and treatment methods that fit each individual client.
Kristi Kuns joined Arrowhead Psychological in June 2018. As a Professional Counselor, Kristi works from a viewpoint that focuses on client strengths and resiliency, forming a positive collaborative relationship, and meeting clients where they are at in the counseling process. She graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2004, Master's Degree in Counselor Education with School Counseling Concentration in 2007, and then earned a Clinical Counseling Endorsement in 2015. Kristi has experience over the past 10 years working with children, teens, and families as a Mental Health Counselor and School Counselor in multiple schools and at The Cullen Center, which specializes in treating trauma in children. Kristi values a person-centered approach to counseling, and incorporates cultural sensitivity, to meet each person’s unique individual needs. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and expressive arts techniques, and is trained in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), crisis intervention, and Child Parent Psychotherapy. Kristi relocated to Duluth from Toledo, OH three years ago and loves the beautiful nature in this area.
Brooke joined Arrowhead Psychological Clinic after completion of her Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth. During her time at UMD, Brooke interned at Essentia's Health Psychology department working with Licensed Psychologists with clients with various medical problems and mental disorders. Common problems included sleep disorders, pre-bariatric counseling, cardiac rehab, and weight management. She also had experience working with patients in neurology, working specifically with people living with mild cognitive impairment. Brooke has experience with college-age students and adults across the lifespan and has worked with clients working on depression, anxiety, stress, and health concerns. Brooke prefers to take a person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approach to counseling and therapy with her clients. Brooke appreciates the relationship building and trust that can be formed in a positive therapeutic relationship. Prior to her time at UMD, Brooke graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a degree in Psychology. She is passionate about health behaviors and healthy lifestyles.
