Dr. Matthew Webb
Qualifications
Doctor of Psychology
Matt received his doctoral degree in psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley California in 2011 and has held two different post-doctoral positions since then. He worked as a therapist and supervisor at the HDC clinic in Grand Marais for close to 8 years, providing individual, group and couples counseling to a variety of age groups with a diverse set of presenting problems.
He joined the neurorehabilitation department (Polinsky) at Essentia after relocating to Duluth 6 years ago. While there he administered psychological assessments and provided individual and family counseling to those affected by brain injury or degenerative disease processes. More recently Matt has taken a deeper interest in hypnotic techniques and hypnotherapy. This stemmed from his exposure to the vast literature showing how effective hypnosis is for many of the issues his rehabilitation patients were suffering from, such as loss of ability, pain, gastrointestinal distress, as well as depression and anxiety. In his free time he is a family guy and aspiring outdoor sportsman.
