Dr. Sarah Siltanen

Dr. Sarah Siltanen, a native of the Proctor/Duluth area obtained her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. During Dr. Siltanen’s internship, she worked with teens in residential treatment for emotional and behavioral disorders. Upon completion of her doctoral degree, Dr. Siltanen provided individual therapy services and group therapy services at Allendale Association. She provided services within the therapeutic day school and outpatient community clinic to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and learning disorders.

Dr. Siltanen believes therapy is most effective when people feel safe, understood, and genuinely connected. Her collaborative approach is tailored to each client's unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals. She creates a supportive environment where teens and adults can gain insight, strengthen relationships, develop practical skills, and move toward the life they want to create. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dr. Siltanen individualizes treatment to help each client create meaningful, lasting change.

Dr. Siltanen directs Arrowhead Psychological Clinics Therapy in the Schools Program and offers therapy services on site at Duluth East High School during the school year. Several days per week she also provides therapy services at Arrowhead Psychological Clinic for adolescents and young adults. Dr. Siltanen enjoys collaborating with young adults, teens and their families to find healthy solutions to life’s challenges.

Outside of the office, Dr. Siltanen stays busy with her husband and four children. She enjoys watching and supporting her children's sports and various activities. Dr. Siltanen also enjoys watching reality television shows and thrifting!
