Jonathan, originally from Wisconsin, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Stout and his Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from The College of St. Scholastica.
He has experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families in outpatient, school-based, residential, and behavioral therapy settings. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, he provided Applied Behavior Analysis services as a Behavioral Therapist. These experiences helped him develop a strong foundation in supporting clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational needs.
Jonathan has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and play-based interventions. He commonly works with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, separation anxiety, and family or school-related transitions, adapting each approach to the needs of the client.
He also values involving parents, caregivers, and other family members when appropriate. He believes family collaboration can strengthen communication, reinforce skills, and support progress outside of therapy.
Jonathan takes a person-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to counseling. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful growth and enjoys helping clients build practical skills and develop greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, running, skiing, spending time with his wife, family, and friends, and playing just about any sport that involves a net.
