Makayla has spent her entire life living in Duluth, between the neighborhoods of West Duluth and Fredenberg townships. She enjoys spending her time outside with friends and family. Growing up as a Girl Scout, Makayla has learned to find value in everything.

She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work in 2024 at the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), as well as a certificate in healthcare. Makayla developed her Spanish skill set as she studied abroad, staying with many host families in Cuernavaca, Mexico; obtaining a minor in Spanish.

She is a graduate of the Advanced Standing Masters of Clinical Social Work program at College of St Scholastica. Makayla’s bachelor level internship involved providing Assisted Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy at a local clinic to kids with autism aged 2 - 17. Makayla deeply enjoys working with kids, preteens and adolescents to help assist in daily challenges.

While in school she studied a range of therapeutic techniques, such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), and Somatic Experiences (SE).  Makayla strives to get a wide perspective and understanding of each client’s presenting issues.

Makayla is passionate about assisting current school-aged kids in living out each day to the best of their ability. Makayla shows lots of positivity and excitement when entering the mental health field!
