FAQ:

What can I expect during my first appointment?

The first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, review your history, explore your goals, and determine the best treatment approach for your needs. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and confident as we begin working together.

What does therapy look like when working with younger children?

Therapy with younger children is tailored to their developmental needs and may look different from traditional talk therapy. Depending on the child, I may incorporate games, activities, visual supports, behavioral strategies, coping skills, and positive reinforcement to help make therapy engaging and meaningful. I also value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers when appropriate to help support progress outside of sessions.

Can you collaborate with my child's school or other providers?

Yes. When appropriate and with your written consent, I enjoy collaborating with schools, primary care providers, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals involved in your or your child's care. Collaboration can help ensure everyone is working toward the same goals and provide more coordinated support.

How do I know if Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is right for me?

We'll first discuss your concerns and determine whether ART is an appropriate treatment option based on your goals and needs. If we decide it's a good fit, ART sessions are typically scheduled for approximately 60 minutes and are incorporated into your overall treatment plan.
