Rebecca Kucinski

Rebecca “Becky” Kucinski arrives from northern Wisconsin where she spent the last 6 years working in a community clinic with an emphasis on providing integrated, whole person care. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2011 and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2018.

Becky has a passion for working with almost all ages, seeing clients as young as four. She has worked with a range of concerns including trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, disordered eating, and navigating stressful life transitions. Her approach is deeply collaborative, person-centered, and neuroaffirming. She finds it important to start by painting the whole picture of the person, identifying strengths, adaptive strategies, and barriers to meeting goals. Goals of treatment are created collaboratively.

Becky attempts to tailor therapy to each individual'sunique needs, incorporating evidence-based practices. Becky has completedtrainings in:

●     Trauma & Somatic Therapies: EMDR therapy including advanced training in treating complex trauma, IFS informed, Polyvagal Theory, and somatic-informed techniques.

●     Behavioral & Cognitive Modalities: Mindfulness based, CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP.

●    Child & Family Approaches: Play-based therapies, TF-CBT, and attachment-informed models such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy(DDP).

Becky has completed coursework on neuroaffirming approaches to treatment when working with individuals diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. She also has significant experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.

Becky offers both in person counseling and online counseling services. Becky is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin and able to conduct telehealth services for both Minnesota and Wisconsin residents.

Becky has always loved science alongside having a deep drive to help others. She is endlessly curious about human nature and the complex intricacies that make us who we are. Becky feels very lucky she was able to find a career that incorporates science, healing, laughter, and play!

What does Becky do outside of her clinical work?

Becky has a strong love of nature and being on the shores of Lake Superior. She enjoys spending time with her pets, family, and friends. She enjoys creating art, gardening, learning, and exploring.
